2)Many UT students have been sued for unbelievable amounts of money by the RIAA and this is an issue that local media like the Texan or Statesman haven't really been talking about. Also, UT has had several breeches of database security that have potentially exposed hundreds of student personal information. UT students should know just how secure their information is.
3) In my slideshow I could have statistical information (how many students have been sued/how many students have had their personal leaked online), survey results, pictures of trial proceedings, etc. Most of my visuals will most likely be graphics as opposed to photographs.
4)I would interview the relevant students, faculty and staff, as well as law firms and internet security companies.
Your 'slideshow' is not like a conventional slideshow that is filled with numbers, pie charts and other stats. Instead of this, you need to focus on pictures to carry your narrative (in other words, as little to read as possible). As far as this assignment is concerned, inforgraphics and stats can support your slideshow. So, you can probably have a couple of slides (at most) that have figures and numbers. But the rest has to be ORIGINAL photos you take of your subjects.
ReplyDeleteNow, do you have access to these court proceedings? If so, I would advice you to narrow it down to one case. That is, just focus on one student and his/her travails through the trial process and hopefully the outcome. But to be very honest, unless you are really lucky and there happens to be a trial on the matter soon, I don't think this is going to work. You can also talk to Dr. Chyi tomorrow before or after class.
But try to think of a more visual idea. Look at other posts on this blog and see if you can get any parallel ideas (mind you not same but parallel ideas!).
