1. My story idea is about how potatoes, especially sweet potatoes have the potential to become the next Bio fuel of the future.
2. In president Obama's inaugural speech he talked about "restoring science to its rightful place" and using the Earth's natural products to "wield technology's wonders". Environmental concerns are a prevalent issue and concern today, so the story is significant because it proposes a potential alternative fuel that could effect our future. There is already a growing community of spud technology users in Austin.
3. The slide show would contain pictures about the product itself, the process of turning potatoes into fuel, the technology such as cars that can utilize this Bio fuel, to the people who are already using it in Austin.
4. The text will elaborate on what the slide show pictures depict, by going into more detail about the scientific elements of spud technology, and about its strengths, weakness, potential, etc.
This sounds like a good idea. I assume you have access to appropriate resources to get pictures of the process and the people/facility where this process takes place. Try to mold the story such that it can be well-represented using pictures.
