1. My story idea is to show how online shopping has revolutionized the way we shop.
2. How is online shopping different from shopping in person? What are the advantages and disadvantages? How do we choose where to shop online? These are some questions I would like to address. This story is important because as college students we are interested in new ways to do things faster, easier and cheaper. Also, as online shopping gets more popular, smaller companies are finding ways to compete with the national brands such as updating the features and functionality of their websites to attract more people.
3. A multimedia slide show would be the best option for this story because it would enable me to showcase and compare the web pages of different companies. This would allow viewers to actually see the differences in ease, appeal and functionality of competing websites. It would also be the best way to show the advantages and disadvantages of online shopping.
4. I would like to incorporate images of online shopping sites as well as photos or videos of online shoppers. The text I would include will explain the phenomenon that is online shopping, as well as information about safety, security, privacy, quality and ease.
In addition to photos of people you interview and screen shots, what other photos would you have? How can issues of safety, security, and quality be told with visual photos? Also, in addition to convenience or price, one question to address is why young people choose to shop online.
